Tallowood is an exceedingly dense timber sold by South Pacific Timber as flooring in the Richwood end-matched profile. Heavy and tightly grained, the timber is vbery durable, and is well suited for exterior use in wet and damp environments. The heartwood is highly resistant to decay when placed in ground.

Found in Australia from central NSW to central Queensland, the tree is still readily available in those states.

The timber is easy to machine and gives a great finish in a decking and verandah post application, although is not readily available in these sizes in New Zealand.
