Rosewood is a highly decorative timber, used primarily in flooring, veneer
products or finishing lines. Used in furniture, joinery, pannelling, interior
trim in boats and turned products. It is highly resistant to termite,
insect and fungus attack, and is very durable.
The heartwood varies in colour from light yellow to golden brown and to
brick red in colour. The redder the wood, the more heavy it is. It has
a wavy grain which can swirl, criss and cross, and give a ripply effect,
making for a very interesting flooring timber.
The timber is easy to work with and gives and excellent polish.
