Kwila is
widely distributed throughout Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and
Solomon Islands.
Kwila is
commonly used as an attractive floor, and also commonly used for outdoor
decking and furniture. It starts a medium to dark brown colour and will
bleed this resin out when wet.The resin can stain paintwork and concrete.
Over time with natural weathering, Kwila will age to a silvery grey colour.
It is a dense
timber and very strong, which machines well to give an excellent finish
for decorative lines such as handrails, cappings and flooring.
